That party dance

Don't get me wrong, Robin hood was my 3rd favorite disney movie and still is, but i just wanna talk about the dance at the surprise party they had after the romantic evening. The animators used the same moves like in The Aristocats on the secret cat house. I mean, take Robin and Maid Marian and put them nest to The Duchess and O'Malley and you'll see it...

reply

Yes, they recycled some of the animation from other films. I'd forgive them, considering how much work it was to put together a cel animation sequence, in those days.

In the late 20th/ early 21st century, animated models are also re-used constantly - consider the velociraptors from 'Jurassic Park;' at the very least, they were used in the Tristar 'Godzilla,' for the baby zillas.

Thank you for your response!

Of course there's nothing wrong with it, i just wanted to point that out :)

I understand better now that you've explained why did that happened, thank you :D

reply

It seems like the party dance sequence also recycled things from "Snow White" and "The Jungle Book".

Intelligence and purity.

reply

Maybe apart from being recycled, they wanted it to be "disney trademark" dance i guess?

reply

Robin Hood used more recycled footage than any other Disney movie. :)

reply

That's nice to know! Thanks! :)
