Even if you like Galt MacDermot's music from 'Hair' and 'Fortune and Men's Eyes', this film is a sure turkey. Absolutely hard to digest, but I guess that's the point. If you have just taken a big toke and love being challenged by movies as a stimulant, then perhaps "Rhinoceros" is for you.
shareI disagree. I think people should give the movie a chance. It's not an easily digestible commercial movie. It's not an impenetrable art movie. I admit it does take a bit of effort.
It's an interesting take on the concepts of conformity, group think and identity. I thought it had a bit of a political spin about who became rhinoceros first. But the play writer Eugène Ionesco intended different points.
