Does anyone know which actor played Major Dobbrick, the commanding officer of the German SS-platoon ambushed in Rome? He only has a fairly minor part in the movie after the explosion although he is summoned to Kappler's office and refuses to co-operate with the executions and is threatened with court martial.
I've seen his face somewhere before but can't put a name to the actor.
Any help would be appreciated.
The cast list says it was Anthony Steel, in one of his minor roles after he slipped from his "beefcake" stardom of the 1950s. Some of his later roles were in sexploitation movies. When I first glimpsed him in "Massacre in Rome", I wondered if he was wearing a toupee, but in his earlier firms he always sported a very thick mass of hair (incongruously dyed blond in "The Black Tent).
