I remember seeing a really freaky cartoon as a kid, where a girl in a skin-tight white jump suite and long black hair is having a running gun battle through some strange white metal corridors with a load of armed soldiers. There was so much blood it was up to her knees. Suddenly, she got shot and flew up into the air, landed in the sea and suddenly re-emerged supported by robot arms while a weird mereman creature licked her feet with a tenticle-like tongue. Now, I'm either stark raving mad or this movie exists and that's all I saw of it. It was back in the 80's, when BBC2 was doing a season of artsie-fartsy animation that kids really shouldn't be watching. Can anyone help?

Thanks. I actually managed to find it anyway, completly by accident; it was the very first Aeon Flux short, first broadcast in 1991; the AeonFlux series was 1995.

I thought I was going balmy for years.

Indeed the original series (such as it was) rates up there on the surreal scale with Fantastic Planet, or at least the strange-omiter. heh. Wasnt impressed with the talky animated series and the Blood Reign series I have yet to come across. Though his work on Phantom 2020 was interesting if short lived.
