One of the most beautiful animation films I have ever seen

The visual style, the music... made it an unforgettable experience to watch.
First I got a French-speaking version with English subtitles from the Internet, but every time the white letter subtitles were superimposed over a clear background you couldn't read them! It was so frustrating! Fortunately I managed to find then a Spanish dubbed version, and that is the one I watched to the end. I was determined to buy the "Masters of the Cinema" edition, but then I thought that if the English subtitles it comes with are like the ones I first watched, I better save my money and keep the downloaded Spanish version instead.

The subtitled version you watched was most likely done by an amateur. The same has happened to me and it was always the case that they were done by amateurs.

This movie offers a wealth of striking and surreal images. I especially loved all the dangerous and predatory creatures that populated the planet.

So do I.
The visual style looks so much like Terry Gillian's, with all those alien-looking creatures... I just loved it.

I agree! This movie was so moving and touching.

Agreed, the film is beautiful and near perfect, in my opinion. The Eureka Master of Cinema release is actually fantastic, OP. I own a copy of it and it includes both the original French language subtitled version and the English dubbed version with an extensive essay booklet. I believe they also have a dual-format edition - it's tempting to pick it up as a replacement for my DVD copy.

Thank you for the tip, Oliver. Much appreciated.
