US blu ray/dvd?

Does anyone have any information on when a US blu ray or dvd will be released? The Masters Of Cinema version from Eureka! looks awesome! Especially all the bonus features loaded on it. I'm so antsy to dig into those, but unfortunately it is not yet available in the US :/ Annoying, and strange why it's not available here.

I'd been hoping that Criterion would get around to releasing "The Fantastic Planet". I expect this will be quite a fine release and worth Criterion's somewhat higher price. That being said, I suspect that as the release date approaches, there will be some price adjusts. I'll be ready!!

The info on extras etc. will likely also update as time gets nearer. I would expect (and hope) the release will include both the French language version AND the English Roger Corman Distributed version.

Fantastic Planet on Criterion. Who could ask for more?

The French language version isn't anything to write home about. The English version is much more expressive and conveying. Take this into consideration...

The largest French language dictionary contains only 100.000 words. By way of comparison the English languae has surpassed the 1 million word threshold. English is the most complex, expressive anf effiecent language on the planet.

Language is everything...

Another link showing planned features. Both languages and a new subtitle translation. Looks like one of Criterion's usual high standard releases.

I just purchased the Criterion DVD for this film for only fifteen bucks at a half price sale at a local Barnes & Noble in Central New Jersey.
