This film is highly inappropriate and terrifying for kids

I saw it when I was 19 and I was terrified. Not to mention the hoards of naked men and women roaming around in the film! Penis and vagina displayed all round!

Not only that, but I believe its a very frightening film for small children with the themes of it. I haven't watched it for 6 years now but I remember there was some violent stuff happening in there.

Not appropriate. If I'm 25 and it scares me, then it sure as hell will scare my cousins who are under the age of 10!
Not my ideal movie to plonk the kids in front of the TV while babysitting!

I'm wearing a tuxedo for no apparent reason.

....So what?

Aliens is also not appropriate for kids -- that means nothing in terms of it's quality as an adult entertainment.

Just because this film is animated doesn't mean it's intended for a young audience. Doesn't change the fact that it's a rather brilliant film.

I can't tell if you're a troll, or just someone who is unhealthily terrified by nudity...

reply

My kids are 9 and love it.

The nudity isn't sexual, and I'll never understand our North Americanfear of any nudity. The only questionable scene is when they send them to mate, but that's not even explicit.

Is the movie scary, yes, but inappropriate... That's a much more subjective statement.

Think about it, we saw blatant nudity in National Geographic, why is this so different?

reply

There were two mating scenes, one for the human like people, one for the alien like people. Not that they were overtly sexual at all, they were very tame.Nowadays most kids by 9 know what mating is by more crude names, and have seen tons of nudity.

The OP is a prime example of modern day liberalism which is a huge problem in many european nations (specially and ironocally France) and Canada. The infection spreads more each time to the USA every time a Democrat gets in office.

Liberals and Democrats allow emotion and feeling to rule their judgement. Their lives are not guided by logic and reason like the other half lives.

You sir, are highly inappropriate.

.. I am, in a word, terse.

Are you under the impression that animated movies are only for children?

It's obvious he is.

Not sure you and your weak DNA should procreate.

I was eight when I saw this. Teacher got the bright idea to take the kiddies to see the new cartoon playing down at the movie house. It certainly got my attention, and showed me that a cartoon didn't have to be funny animals.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler.

I don't see why that is terrifying.

Not only that, but I believe its a very frightening film for small children with the themes of it. I haven't watched it for 6 years now but I remember there was some violent stuff happening in there.

Well it's not made for children. But even with that said I think it's fine viewing material to watch with (older) kids, preferably with a little introduction to prepare them. It's good to have kids watch more challenging material to help raise them into intelligent adults.

Not appropriate. If I'm 25 and it scares me, then it sure as hell will scare my cousins who are under the age of 10!

Again it was not made for children.
And if you're 25 and this scares you then I just wonder what life you have lived in those 25 years.

I was about 9 when I saw this for the first time, thinking it was a kids movie. Needless to say, I was a bit confused. But it didn't have any ill effect on me, or so I think!
