Terry Gilliam like animation

This entire movie reminds me of the animations Gilliam used to do for MPFC. It's not done with paper clippings, but it sure looks and feels the same.

I don't really agree for the entire movie, but there are a few scenes that totally monty python. At least one scene is out of place that I'm pretty sure it's a homage.

I'm talking about that tree thing eating that comical creature. Also the dancing statues that get shot down by lasers.

Some bits reminded me of Monty Python also.

First time I saw some bits of this movie, I thought it WAS Terry Gilliam, so I looked it up on IMDb and here I am finding out that it is not.

"Enough of that technical talk, Foo!"

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I agree with you. I was very much reminded of Monty Python animation, I wonder if he saw this film?

He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!

this one came out 4 years AFTER Flying Circus premiered but I assume this one was pretty popular with the alternative crowd in it's time.

That is what I thought too right from the very first scene of the film.

For the record, the guys that made FP were doing animation using cutouts many years before MPFC debuted in 1969. The first release was in 1957. Their 1965 short Les Escargots got quite a bit of acclaim and I wouldn't be surprised if Terry Gilliam was a fan of it.
