Differences between the book and the movie

They only released an English translation of "Oms en serie" last year. I've read it, and for someone who doesn't normally like science fiction I enjoyed it. I thought it would be fun to make a list of the differences between the movie and book, for those who are curious to know. And if anyone else has read the book, remind of any ones that I forgot.

In the book:
- The Draags are called Traags

- They are described somewhat similar as they are in the movie, this is the description of Tiwa: "She was a small and pretty Traag girl, with big red eyes, a narrow nasal slit, a mobile mouth and on either side of her smooth skull two eardrums so fine they appeared to be translucent." There is no mention of them having blue skin that I remember.

- The Traags also have something called 'arm membranes' which they use to glide on. I'm guessing they would look similar to the sleeves on Master Singh's clothing in the movie.

- They apparently have ten fingers on each hand because it mentions Tiwa holding her father's hand with 'twenty small fingers' although it's possible this is a translation error, there are a couple typos in the book.

- Tiwa's father's name is Praw, and he is a separate character from the prime minister Master Singh.

- Tiwa acts more like a child, and a little bit bratty and demanding, a far cry from how quiet she is in the movie.

- Instead of Tiwa and her father finding Terr after his mother is accidentally killed, Terr is given to Tiwa by a neighbor whose own pet Om had twin babies.

- Terr's mother's name is Softina.

- It is mentioned that Tiwa's mother Wami has green eyes, so apparently not all Traag's have red eyes like the Draags in the film.

- Terr has blond hair in the book as opposed to brown.

More to come!

Thank-you for those details, as I just watched this film tonight and probably won't ever get around to reading the book.
