Vinegar Syndrome's Blu-Ray is FANTASTIC!

Tremendous work from all involved with the "Pigs" Blu-Ray, it's incredible. Although this film has a long history of being recut several times, including versions that incorporated newly shot footage that didn't feature lead actress Toni Lawrence, Vinegar Syndrome recreated the original version of the film as the director intended. They even included the alternate footage as bonus features on the disc, so you can see how the film changed through the years. I think the version of the film we are all familiar with is the one called "Daddy's Girl", and this original cut of the film changes the entire tone of the film for the better. Thank you, Vinegar Syndrome!

VS put together a great release with 'Pigs', absolutely. The "Daddy's Girl" footage is total nonsense and is even worse when awkwardly spliced into the film. The "Love Exorcist" footage is wonderfully bonkers, even more so given that Toni was featured and her father directed it.

Agreed, except that doesn't look like Toni Lawrence at all in that "Love Exorcist" scene. Is it really her? I don't know much about who directed the additional footage for that or "Daddy's Girl". I love that they tried to force an exorcism plot on the movie, but really it's such a good movie on its own, I hate to see it marred by something unrelated.

Yep, they did a nice job on this disc. I was especially glad to see it after idiotic Troma put out a cut-for-TV print several years ago. Troma doesn't have any pride and will release complete garbage, which is why most of their DVDs are selling for around $2 on the internet now. Vinegar Syndrome puts out quality stuff and gives you your money's worth.

Agreed. The Vinegar Syndrome release is terrific. I especially dug the interviews with Toni Lawrence and Charles Bernstein. Moreover, it was nice to finally see Marc Lawrence's original intended version.

I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find

Watched the Vinegar Syndrome dvd last night. The film title in the opening credits was THE 13TH PIG. I never knew it was called that before. I first saw it back in 1985 on vhs under the name THE KILLER.

The only thing I found disappointing in the extras was that there is no interview with Jesse Vint who played the sheriff. He is still alive and has had an interesting career in exploitation films (WELCOME TO ARROW BEACH, MACON COUNTY LINE, BOBBIE JO AND THE OUTLAW, MUTANT etc) so I was simply wondering why they didn't interview him ?
