sensitive musical scoring

Brian Gascoigne's score is perfect for the film. Especially poignant are his elegiac themes for "the ants' sacrifice" and "Kindra's sacrifice/night walk".
Note that the 2010 version of True Grit also employed the old hymn, Leaning On the Everlasting Arms to good effect. The score added a depth the film which rendered the entire production almost profound.
