2005v Dylan's name along with Coburn and Krist. before the title, lame!

in the 2005 version i think it's very lame having it be

JAMES COBURN

KRIS KRISTOFERSON

BOB DYLAN in

PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID

i think that's so stupid to put dylan third before the credits. he's a fun little character and not EVEN the merit of the two main characters. plus, there's JAMES COBURN first 'cause he's Pat Garrett, and then Kristoferson becuase he's Billy the Kid, but is this film called PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID AND ALIAS?

i dont know, that just bugged me. it was the studios being too aware of 'cult status' and they put bob's name on there to kiss his ass.

it's better when he was AND bob dylan.

but i do like that the 2005 cut the three old men scene out, that was a bore.

I recently saw the original 106 min cut on a pan'n'scan VHS, and it was the same with that version. From what I've read on forums over the last few days, the experts that have compiled the 2005 Special Edition went back to the 1973 cut and augmented it with parts of the 1988 restored cut. Scenes have been trimmed, added, changed around etc. The rationale for this is apparently that the team viewed the 1973 cut as Sam Peckinpah's approved version - just incomplete - as it was butchered by the then MGM boss James Aubrey prior to release.

I'm looking forward to my copy arriving from the US, to be able to compare this new version with the 1988 cut that most of us have become familiar with in recent years (decided not to wait for the UK release, as it will inevitably be cut, again, by the BBFC for the chicken shooting scene).
