COMPLETE Paper Moon Soundtrack on CD!

I have read every posting on this particular film and would like to put together a Complete CD of the Songs in "Paper Moon". Since it is extremely unlikely that there will ever be a studio release of the specific music used, I would like to know if any film or music buff's would be willing to help me compile the tracks (from the best quality sources available, of course). I would also like to make the results of this long overdue project available to anyone interested (via web download) absolutely FREE! This would be a fanedit and perfectly legal, similiar to what can be found at- fanedit.org/category/true-fanedits/
If anyone is interested please post here or message me directly.
Here's to "Paper Moon", one of the best films of all time!

I don't know how I could help, but I would definitely buy a copy!

Well, Paramount Records DID release a soundtrack in 1973. It is HARD to find, and I have the only copy I have ever seen. The release number is PAS 1012. I have devoted many years to finding the original recordings used in the soundtrack, and would be glad to send you a copy of what I have. Some were recorded on my period Victor Credenza, and the ones I have not found were taken from the Paramount release. My eMail is victrolaguy (at) hotmail (dot) com. (not sure if I can post an eMail, but you can put 2 and 2 together!) Just eMail me with your mailing adress, and I'll get you a copy. This is one of the best period soundtracks ever, aside from "Pennies from Heaven."

This sounds wonderful. I bought the album in 1973 or 1974 and loved it. The songs are haunting and very appropriate for the current economic times. However, some of the bands and singers on the album are very hard to find. I especially like the renditions of “Keep your sunny side up” and “Just around the corner”, however, "On the banks of the Ohio" is an acquired taste. I would love to have a copy of the CD. If I could help in any way please let me know. As for my own album, I last saw it about five years ago at my mother’s house. It was not thrown out, I have to take the time and find it in her old LP cabinet. If I do find it, I'll let you know.

The complete soundtrack was reissued on March 16, 2009 as 'Paper Moon Original Sound Track + Django Reinhardt And The Quintet Of The Hot Club Of France' (El acmem170cd), which (obviously) supplements the soundtrack with eleven Django Reinhardt tracks.

You can read more information about this reissue in the middle of this page from the label's website.

The above link is located in Britain, so don't plan on ordering it there, since there is an exchange rate and international postage involved.

If you do a search for the UPC code - 5013929317031 - you should be able to find it under $13 (though I found a copy for under $7). Otherwise expect to find it for $18 to as much as $37 domestically.
