Any plans for a DVD release?

I've been putting off buying the VHS edition of the movie for my Murphy's Law fear that as soon as I do it'll come out on DVD. Does anyone know if a DVD release is in the works?

reply

I was wondering the same. I think a bit longer. Make sure you post it here if you do find the DVD.

reply

I know it should be re-released and on the shiny format.

A classic.

If this Malcolm McDowell website is correct ( http://www.geocities.com/malcolmtribute/olm.html ) it could get a release this year. Fingers crossed.

Go to Amazon.com and vote on it's DVD release!

I second Oliver-50's comment. Vote early and vote often for this film. It has one of the finest music scores for any movie ever.
It is just too odd that the third movie of the trilogy "Britannia Hospital" has been out on dvd for a couple of years. While "If..." and "O Lucky Man!" languish in legal and monetary limbo.

Nobody has posted in nearly two months on these boards. It's no wonder Paramount isn't spending some cash to release this on DVD! Come on people!

Please release a DVD!!!

I've heard nothing yet, but it's likely that "If...." will come out before this. So you have kind of a warning there. My advice is to buy it on any format you can -- DVD or VHS -- find it on before it goes out of print.

Criterion plan to release This Sporting Life in the near future, with a new high-definition transfer and extras.
