Part Of A Trilogy...

You all know this film is part of a trilogy...
the other two being "If..." and "Britannia Hospital"

No joke i found it out in my Film Studies class today...

Check it out, they all got Malcolm McDowell(Legend Actor)in them as Mick/Michael Travis, and are all directed by Lindsay Anderson...

No offense, but most generalzations suck, except this one I just made. I say this because the trilogy reference was news (about Malcolm McDowell) to me, and I submit this in the spirit of all of us movie fans lifting each other up with our posts, unless it's necessary to gently put an obvousely contentious critter in his/her place for their posting(s).

People get on IMDb just to be a-holes! So, don't worry about it too much, Toto.

This movie was just on TCM here in the States last night, in HD. Edgar Wright was showing some of his favorite movies. And, he was talking about the trilogy bit just when my satellite TV came back after a storm. So, I didn't get to hear what the other movies in the trilogy were. So, I'm glad that you mentioned this!

I too never made this connection until I was fortunate enough to see O lucky man a couple of years ago. I was then somewhat sickened as I then realised the implications of what happens to McDowell in Brittania Hospital, though he did get his twenty pounds I suppose.

As for pointing it out here, a definite worthwhile endeavour as though there are many who may know it already, there will have still been a point when they didn't know and this is a good way to spread the word on these fine, fine films (though O Lucky Man is the shining chapter in my opinion)

BTW, lets not forget Robin Askwith in both If... and Brittannia Hospital as Keating. Guess he was too busy shagging randy birds and bashing his arse to be in this one, or did I miss him?
