Or weren't they the same character, just that the bum and the rich girl were both played by Helen Mirren and makes it confusing?

She constantly derides Michael for being materialistic .she's always running away from home to live the free spirit life (and then returning when the mood fits her). She 's done it again here (and who knows, may give this up and go back to Daddy's mansion in another couple of days.
