Is there a DVD with English subtitles or dubbing?

I can get a hold of "Tidal Wave" but I'd really prefer to see the original version, however I don't speak Japanese!

There is a Hong Kong DVD with English subtitles that just came out. Go to yesasia.com.

I have this DVD. Picture looks fine and the subtitles are good, but the film is cut by nearly 30 minutes from the original Japanese version, which is also available on DVD but contains no subtitles. Can't figure why everyone has such a big jones to shorten this film. The long version is so much better.

Be a man and watch it without English subtitles. The manly 70's hair stole every scene!

The version being sold at Yesasia looks exactly like the widescreen, uncut Japanese version that I bought while I was working in Japan...and it doesn't have English subtitles! The only way to get subs for the film was to spend months translating it with a Japanese guy I worked with - and for all I know it's the only English translation of the whole movie around!

I have the HK disc and it is subtitled. It's available on ebay.

Can you and your Japanese guy subtitle RENGO KANTAI for me? I have the extremely expensive original Japanese disc, of course with no English subtitles... only Japanese ones. I guess I could go through the whole film, take screengrabs of every dialog line, and then post them. That would take hours, but I'd be willing just to finally be able to understand what's going on in an awesome film.

Rengo Kantai subs posted your way - and I didn't have to translate them!
