I'll even take Tidal Wave!

Come on! Let's have a dvd release in region 1! I collect disaster movies, and I'd love to add this to my dvd collection! I'll even take the U.S. version, "Tidal Wave."

Here in my Chinatown EVERY video/CD/grocery/hairstylist store has Region 1 copies of this movie for sale for 2 bucks. I didn't even know what it was when I picked it up; the "10 for $20" signs had me grabbing any cover with explosions or monsters on it with at least 1 word of English on it. The cover has what I think was the original 70's movie poster with a destroyed Tokyo painted in fiery colors. The transfer was most likely from PAL but it's in widescreen and looks excellent and has a very basic menu. So head down to Chinatown!

I have been looking for the US release with Lorne Greene in it for some time. I have not found it as yet, though I now have 3 different copies.

Roger Ebert thought it was one of the worst films:

"Tidal Wave (in which the special effects apparently consisted of mud on the bottom of a bathtub, stirred up by a garden hose)"

I am still waiting for this film to be released on DVD. I have the VHS edition.
