Towards the end of the movie (possible spoiler

Samantha Eggar is pushed out an upper story window of the house. She is sort of 'flung' out in a nonsensical way, and she looks like she's not trying to stop herself, either. What the hell? :P

Does anybody know where in British Columbia this was filmed? I am wondering if that house is still there.

I just finished watching it. The Robert Culp character beats her up and chucks her through the window, like he did to the television in the beginning of the movie--the two scenes share footage. Thus, Culp-guy manifests his rejection of the modern world through the termination of his wife. Or, you know, it could be that they just needed an easy way to put a stop to the film...

This movie out-confounds David Lynch.

Somewhere up Indian Arm, an ocean inlet which is a further northern inland extension of Burrard Inlet.

But what about the rest of us?

The lodge building is a real place. I don't know if it was actually derelict at the time of filming or they simply made it look that way for the movie, but whatever the case it looks great now. Pretty building!

The building is called "The Wigwam Inn" There is a bit of history about that you can search online. It is now a completely private resort that can only be reached by boat up the Indian Arm inlet (Vancouver, BC). And even then, you aren't allowed on the grounds unless you are a member. It was in the shape as seen in the movie during the filming. It was restored to its near original state in the late 70s.
