Worst movie EVER

We mistakenly watched this movie because a friend had strongly recommended it. She loved it and said it was funny. Actually what she was trying to recommend was another German film called "Mostly Martha". Unfortunately, she left out the key word "Mostly" and we ended up watching this "Martha"...the WORST movie I've EVER seen. A miserable waste of time. (Needless to say, throughout the movie we were seriously questioning the judgement of our friend!)

This is the best movie i have ever seen. You obviously wanted to watch a funny movie and got "Martha" instead -in which case i can understand your dissapointment. But this movie is not a bad movie in any way.

Fassbinder is a legendary Filmmaker and "Martha" is his best in my oppinion.

reply

Obviously, you're just plain stupid.

You just had expectations of a different kind of inner trip, so the players seem "wierd," the story-line "odd," and so on. Dunno what to say to you, but I hope you check it out again -- or maybe another of Fassbinder's movies. Perhaps you need to go through some changes first, though, a death in the family, a disease, the passage of years, something of real life apart from the superficiality of popular culture . . . I have no idea. But this guy made movies with a lot of passion and maybe some day you'll feel it. Then again, maybe not; but it's really not the worst film ever made, although I can understand how you might feel that way, especially if you were expecting something "funny." Homer Simpson it ain't, and that's for sure.

reply

Strange, because I thought Fassbinder's MARTHA was pretty funny in and of itself. Deliciously over-the-top.

reply

i'm laughing hysterically.

I love how people trow the title "worst movie ever" around

Martha is the worst movie ever??? Just the contrary,I'd say. One of the best psychological thrillers ever.

A matter of taste of course, however, let's not forget there are degrees to taste, and well, you Bennitolino, if this is the worst movie ever (I'm sure you're lying to hide your slight guilty liking of perhaps, Helmut), then, Hollywood has been misunderstood by the most brilliant people. Hmmm, what are the chances of that! Lead the way then? It's dumb people like you that already lead the way, by your buying cinema tickets or that blockbuster film you wanted to get, Mostly Martha, and keeping these folks in business. By the way, were you referring to the German version or American one?
