Harry surrendering his Model 29

Why did Harry surrender his .44 to Briggs? Like honestly Briggs would NOT have shot him while he was driving. If he had, it would cause Harry to crash and probably killed them BOTH. Harry should not have surrendered his gun to Briggs. He also should not have thrown Briggs' gun out the window, He could have simply disarmed Briggs and had two guns, and then shot the surviving rookies. Or even if he wanted to do what he did, surrendering his .44 made no sense, and then throwing Briggs' gun out the window was even dumber.

Maybe an even bigger question is where does Briggs get the un that he points at Callahan right before the end?

He picked it up off of Grimes. Remember when Harry hits Grimes Motorcycle with his cruiser? He picked up Grimes' gun and then went to confront Harry. He was dumb though. He honestly would be unable to make good on the threat to railroad Harry for killing the serial killers hiding behind their badges. Witnesses saw Harry pulling a bomb out his mailbox and a similar bomb killed Early. Davis' service revolver matched the bullets pulled out of both Guzman and Charlie McCoy. All on here who condone them are dumb. MURDER is MURDER. Also the cops killed violent criminals, nonviolent criminals, fellow officers, and innocent witnesses/bystanders. These cops were just serial killers who hid behind badges

I've never understood that plot point in countless movies....it's even worse when two guys are standing there, guns pointed at each other, and one of them barks "DROP IT!", and the other one does. I thing that, given the same situation, my reaction would be to put a bullet in him somewhere between "drop" and "it".

Well Briggs would have shot him had Harry done something like draw his 44.

If Harry said "no! you won't shoot me, I shall continue to drive!" Briggs would have kept his gun on Harry until the next red light or wherever safe...THEN shot Harry.

So your plan doesn't work.

Harry did it right. Delay by giving up the gun then drive wackily to make Briggs fall over, then beat the hell out of Briggs with the dashboard. Good plan. Worked well.

Don't think he actually wanted Briggs to fall out of the car though on that crash/turn. That plot convenience cracks me up a bit.

Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.
