A low point in American cinema and Richard Pryor's career. I'm shocked Richard would do a role like this. I guess he was riding high from his great performance in Lady Sings The Blues and the check was too big for him to resist. Cocaine is a helluva drug.
shareWhy do you hate it? The theme of the movie OR the acting? There is a message to the madness of this movie. That's what I love about the movie that I got the message. The Mack didn't make Richard do COKE! He did COKE while doing Lady Sings The Blues as well.

thats my point. the check he got for The Mack was so big he couldn't resist. He had to feed his cocaine habit. He had a white woman habit too and had to give them coke also
shareI hear you but Richard was doing COKE for a long time. He even took it one step further and was freebasing coke. Remember in one of his stand-ups he talks about almost burning himself up. Yes he did like White Woman but I don't know if he loved any of them or respected them because sad to say Richard did not respect himself.
