I'm recording this long lost classic today onto DVD direct from digital Channel Five. It's the 16:9 version so it should look great.

Are they playing the wide screen version? I think it's great it's being played. To hell with the HATERS. I love this movie. It's a wonderful spectacle with an intimate feeling attached.

Yes, it was the original 16:9 version and the picture was great

Was it the the version with IF I COULD GO BACK and I COME TO YOU in it or was it the cut version?

The snow sequences in LOST HORIZON were shot up in Washington State. The escape from the rebels was shot in Arizona. EVERYTHING in Shangri-La was filmed here in parts of California. The lamasery was in Burbank. The landscape scenes were in Malibu State Park. LH is the ultimate Southern California film.
