Didn’t Give a Crap, Did He?

Talking about Bond when M, told him the news that 3 of his fellow “00’s” had been murdered. All he had to say was that he had liked the last guy M, had mentioned.

“I sort of liked Baines sir.” Sort of turned me off to the character initially. Not the kind of way you should react to the killings of 3 of your comrades. But maybe I’m being too judgmental. What do you all think?

Maybe he wasn't tight with the other two.

Pretty sure by that point bond was used to his fellow agents dying, it was nothing new to him

Realistically, the life span of of 00 agents would be ridiculously short. Probably like 6 months or something. Bond is exceptional.

What I think, and what I know, is that whomever wrote that scene never read any of Fleming’s Bond novels. There were only three agents in MI6 who were licensed to kill: 003, 005 and 007.

Maybe Bond was disliked by the other agents because he got all the amazing jobs, travel and women, so he had no relationship with them.
