I like it

this movie ROCKS!!

they should remake it.
I certainly would like to. it has tons of potential.
you mix kung Fu flick with vampires how can you go wrong?

Since Dracula doesnt show case himself to anyone, I dont know why he
needed to go in disguise though.

And I dont like how the 7 golden vampires, had cheezy masks instead of
metal ones, and they looked more like zombies than vampires.

however it was cool that they commanded zombies.

I wish the main kung fu guy and the swedish lady lived happily ever
after though...

In a sick way, I rather enjoyed it myself. I still remember seeing it on local horror host Sammy Terry's Nightmare Theater.

It was almost as good as " The Teenage Ninja Mummy Vs. Dracula at Piedras Blancas" starring Irving Pichel and Franklyn Pangborn that was shown on New Mexico stations in 1973 just before the invention of the grammaphony.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

Wake me up before you Monster A Go Go

You can't remake perfection.Seriously I love this film, and can't understand its bad rep in some quarters. I think there is a common misconception that the quality of Hammer's output diminished in the 70's when in my opinion they made some of their most creative films in this period such as Vampire Circus, Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter, Hands of the Ripper and To the Devil a Daughter. This one has it all-vampires,zombies,kung fu,Peter Cushing and it runs along at a very fast pace. I would highly recommend it even to those you don't enjoy Hammer's usual vampire output.

<and they looked more like zombies than vampires.>

The Chinese concept of the vampire, and indeed the folk lore tradition form Eastern Europe (before the gothic novelists got their fangs into the genre - excuse the weak pun) have vampires much more akin to what we would term zombies - far less glamorous than the erotic-laden tuxedo-wearing Count of Hammer fame. Essentially they are the dead who have arisen and need human life, blood or warmth to sustian them.

If you are interested, there is a sub-genre of tKung Fu movies involving supernatural entities - Mr Vampire and Chinese Ghost Story are my personal favourites.

It's a Chinese hopping vampire. The reason they are called that way it's because they tend to jump instead of walking and their faces are pale/white (or pale-ish). And my god this one look like a goddamn zombie to me.

Funny on how they portray it. When they chased that man at the beginning. One thing I feel like the Hammer Films has developed when it comes to blood and gore... I know it probably look lame in these days, hehehe but the throat-slittering there was a bit graphic back then maybe?

I am watching the movie on TV now.

<<PS. Dracula here is butt ugly. With new form or good ol' Dracula, and the script is kinda weird. No wonder Christopher Lee declined it. BUT as twisted as it can be, I thought it was kinda entertain. Better than nothing>>

The Chinese used to (and probably still do in some of the more rural places in China) tie the legs of their relatives together for burial, so that if they 'woke up', then they would find it difficult to chase the living. I believe this is why the zombies jump instead of walk.
The popular online encyclopedia talks of carrying them off to far places so they had to hop back, but I think it's to stop them hopping back.
And we translate them as 'vampires', because they thirst for blood, but the literal translation of jiāngshī is 'stiff corpse'. I guess they're a sort-of cross between the western ideas of zombie and vampire.

great film i love it.

I like it too because it has Peter Cushing (say no more), Robin Stewart (from Bless This House) and Julie Ege (from The Final Programme).

It's a Hammer Horror. What's not to love?

I had a surprisingly good time with this one! It was fun and entertaining, and there were parts that were unintentionally funny (oh those bats!)

I think my only complaint would be over the Julie Ege character. The character was just another weak female, like they used to be portrayed in a lot of films from the 1950's and 1960's. When the going got tough she simply backed off into a corner, instead of helping her companions the best she could.

I just watched it, and I was pleasantly surprised considering the IMDB rating and all the bad reviews it has.

Much like "Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell" ended the Hammer Frankenstein cycle on a high note, "7 Golden Vampires" does the same for the Hammer Dracula series. My only nitpick is that I wished the role of Dracula would have been played by Christopher Lee.
