I'm trying to find a horror movie from my youth, and I remember a scene where something creepy appears behind some window shutters, which are banging open and closed. Having not seen this movie since, can someone tell me if this sounds familiar?? (Saw the movie around age 5 in mid-70s)

I don't think this is the movie you remember. I don't remember the scene you describe occurring in The Legend of Hell House.
