Can anyone explain the joke about marines and navy in one particular scene?
I don't remember the exact lines. But this is when Jack Nicholson's character goes into washroom full of marines. A marine comments something about sailor getting confused with 13 buttons. To which Jack replies something like, "a marine doesn't have to worry about buttons, he would just lay off his hat". This later sparks a fight between them.
Can someone explain what was that about?
He said the difference between a sailor and a marine is "all I have to do is take off my hat to be a Marine" meaning they ain't shyt but a hatless sailor.. Which I don't agree with.

Whoa! You're right I just saw a notification they are deleting message boards on the 20th haha that is hilarious, too many keyboard warriors and online insults. I might have even contributed to the problem trying to argue back with these internet gladiators.
But the boards do serve a great purpose to answer questions about movies, just like we are chatting civilly now, not all can do this though, the answer IMO is to limit each user one question or thread per board so not always a long argument.
I guess on Feb19th, I will be busy asking or retaliating to boards haha.
