Great Movie

Remember seeing it at the drive in theater back in '73 in the backseat of my Dad's '70 Torino Cobra.

Best to all.

I just saw it on cable, it was really good. Gonna give it an 8.

NOT a NASCAR fan, but like moonshine movies, so by default...

Anyway, saw this in a hotel somewhere, orderd the DVD and have it overseas, where it reminds me of home sweet southern home. Great stuff, from Ned Beatty to the Jim Croce tune.

great movie. i was a yankee by birth but live in the south and have taken a liking to NASCAR. It's fun to see the old tracks and how an illegal business became a sport

for those of you readers out there, Sharon McCrumb (regional writer) did a semi-decent 'update' of the Canterbury Tales with NASCAR and a bus tour of Bristol and the other big tracks in "Saint Dale" (yep, that's Earnhardt). it's not bad. probably won't make the canon for university literature classes in AD 2600, but worth checking out.

I agree. This film is terrific. Jeff Bridges is superb in the lead, with fine support from Valerie Perrine, Art Lund, Gary Busey, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Ned Beatty, and Ed Lauter. Great theme song by Jim Croce, too. 9 out of 10 from me.
