that if you blink during this movie...you're likely to miss something.

I read that after watching the first of the 5 movies in the boxset.
I'm up to the fourth.

I thought ~ how true.

It's pace and its sheer volume of main characters is pretty astounding. And having to rely on the subtitles can be a bit of a curse...to the overal screen appearence. I found the english subtitles hard to read when some japanese is also written up on the screen.

I'm left wondering. What other film can match this one - on overal pace?
What other movies can one not afford to blink during?

So true.

Honestly I did not know who some of the characters were by the end of the film. They all popped up, at least breifly, at the beginning and then re-entered the story at some point in time. When I was 12 years old I watched The Godfather for the first time and thought it was confusing because of all the characters. What would I thought had I watched this!

Still a fun flick, though. I guess part of the fun will be re-watching to pick up on things I missed to fill in the gaps.
