Soundtrack?

If there isn't, I can't believe it. I NEED Jimi's versions of Like a Rolling Stone and Johnny B Goode! Among other things that were in the movie, of course.

Dude...I've got his version of like a rolling stone. A friend of mine gave it to me, don't know where he got it.

Almost every single song on in there can be found on various soundtracks. Johnny B. Goode can be found as single (I don't think there's an actual album for the Berkley show), Hear My Train a Comin' (named here as Getting my heart back together again) is track 1 of his Blues album, Rock Me Baby and Like a Rolling Stone, Hey Joe and Wild Thing are part of his Jimi Plays Monteray album (1986), Machine Gun (both of them) can be found on the Live at Isle of Wight (stoned) or Band of Gypsies (better version). Purple Haze can of course be heard on any number of albums. The Star Spangled Banner is from the Woodstock album and In From the Storm can be found either on First Rays of the New Rising Sun or also on the Isle of Wight live album.

About 80% of these songs can be seen on Google Video or Youtube! as well since people just ripped them from the movie.

If you love vinyl, there was a soundtrack for this movie originally released in 1973. I don't think it was ever officialy released on CD, but I bet you can find vinyl rips as bootleg CDs somewhere on the net.

The cover for the vinyl is the same as the new DVD re-release cover.

reply

Both are on the 4-cd box set.
