Not In National Film Registry Library of Congress

Really? But "Clerks" (1994) is?

The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady are there, so it doesn't have to do with something being a stage production before the film...

Also, the original Rock Opera is not in the National Recording Registry. But the soundtrack to "Star Wars" is.

The Sountrack to "Hair" is listed there also.

"The Who Sings My Generation" and "Dark Side of the Moon" are on the list and those were recorded outside the USA. I don't see any Beatles albums...

Not surprised. A lot of people are not Christians and a lot of people can't stand Christianity at all because they don't know the difference between actual Christians and Christian Extremists. Just like how some people don't know the difference between actual Muslims and Muslim Extremists.

Excellent comment. I've been saying this for years. The fundamentalists have been driving more people away from Christianity than drawing them in. And I can't even count how many people I've known who have rebelled against the strict Catholicism they were raised in. Rebelled by simply turning their backs on all things Christian. Damn shame.

This film doesn't deserve to be in the registry because it isn't very good. I never liked the scoring on it which is much different from the concept album that gave birth to the musical. Infinitely preferable was Norman Jewison's other famed musical, Fiddler on the Roof.

Fiddler On The Roof also belongs in National Film Registry Library of Congress. I love both, but I love JCS more.
