Sam Waterston look-alike?

Am I the only person who thinks that one actor looks just like a young Sam Waterston? It was hilarious watching him sing because I thought it might be him. Apparently it isn't, as I had to go to IMDB to see the cast list.

I was 13 when this film first came out, but I have never watched it until now. I am enjoying it for what it is -- certainly not a true depiction of the life of Christ, but rather a modern-day allegory of some Gospel themes. I also enjoy Godspell -- in film or on stage. Although I often am initially taken aback by Godspell on stage, usually wincing slightly at the portrayal of Christ, the play very quickly wins me over as something reverential rather than disrespectful toward Christ.

I was raised Roman Catholic. I've since abandoned the Church, but the Christian iconography is still strong in my
imagination. I enjoyed both JC Superstar and Godspell and don't understand the complaints about them. They are
obviously not literal depictions of the Jesus of the Gospels. Who cares if the miracles are real or magic tricks. I
remember a line from a play(A Man For All Seasons?) spoken by Cardinal Woolsey to the effect that anything that
serves to increase faith is a miracle. And I find them faithful to the spirit of the Jesus story.
