Sequel

My father was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a sequel to the movie. He heard a guy at his working talking about it. Thanks so much if you have any information.

reply

There is NO real sequel to this movie.

BUT
Well, "Un génie, deux associés et une cloche" is the so-called sequel but the connection between the two movies is thin. But you'll find the same mix of humour and western cliché in it so you might enjoy it.

"Un genio, due compari, un pollo" is the "sequel". It's very similiar in style and laughs as "My Name is Nobody" and Terence Hill plays a charachter that resembles more than a bit Nobody. But Hill is named Joe Thanks in this one. The film has been released with different titles in different territories. In US it's known as "A Genius, Two Friends, and an Idiot" and "A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe", but in Europe (especially in Germany) the film is known as "Nobody's the Greatest", hence why it's refered as a sequel. In addition the two films ("My Name is Nobody" and "A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe") has been released in many countries with similar package design (in either Nobody collection or Terence Hill Collection) and more or less are therefore considered by many as a film series. In UK the DVD cover of "A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe" has both that name as well as "Nobody's the Greatest".

And The Genius isn't as good a film.

reply

Un genio, due compari, un pollo is, as far as i know, NOT a sequel to nobody.

reply

I believe that's correct, it's not a sequel.

If you go back to the main page and click on "movie connections," you'll see it's not listed as a sequel.

exactly, i was here looking for the sequel as well but what i got was a "trinity" sequel, the titles of these italian terence hill & bud spencer movies are so weird and messy, anyway, i saw these as a kid and thought this had a real sequel, in sweden "the sequel" is titled, translating to english here, "my name is still nobody". this movie seem pretty popular and gets a high rating, what great music score, reminds me of some other movie i've seen, about fifteen minutes in you notice the dubbing is very bad though (perhaps cause there hadn't been any dialogue to that point), like when the dying man whispers in henry fonda's ear, i'm pretty sure there is an actor in this that also appears with hill in "the troublemakers" (1994), it's the guy shooting glasses and screaming in the horror house. okey, major spoilers follows here, i thought during the end duel that hill had only scraped henry fonda's gun. i'm not sure how to interpret this movie, sometimes you think nobody was the angel of death, sometimes that it was just a straight fun western, well i just can't reveal what a cool ending it really has. the slow pacing and intensity just makes you wanna fast forward to see what will happen next, but what a great western also including a lot of humour.
