Fun Fact!

Did you know that Scorsese was originally attached to directed this film if he hadn't met Robert DeNiro with a few film people on Christmas Eve (I believe in '72) where Scorsese showed them his script for 'Season of the Witch' later renamed 'Mean Streets.'
Thank God that meeting took place.

Well, but, what IF he'd directed THIS and it had come out better? I wish Richard Rust (Sgt. Zamorra) had met some other directors. I mean he worked for some GOOD ones, but I wish he'd been in The Godfather, for one thing.

reply

Forget Richard Rust and boring stiff director Martin Scorsese and FORGET that dull
cardboard Robert DE Niro the REAL GREAT STARS are CHRISTOPHER GEORGE + JIM BROWN.

reply

WILLIAM WITNEY was a superb director of real class. Scorsese is NOT fit to lick
Witney's muddy boots.
