hospital themed slashers???

pretty sure my fav out of the hospital theme slashers is hospital massacre... can anyone think of anymore hospital types? i got: hospital massacre, terror hospital, visiting hours, horror hospital.. and thats it! theres got to be more though... anyone??

reply

Well....
Halloween 2
The Possession of Nurse Sherri
Cobra (okay, there's only one hospital-slasher scene, which would then mean that Wes Craven's New Nightmare, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Offerings, and a hundred others would count)
(I would assume) The Surgeon
Nightmare on Elm Street 3 (well, it does take place in a hospital)
The Last Slumber Party (only a few scenes take place in the hospital, but the killer does dress as a doctor/surgeon)
Maniac Cop 3

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. But it's a decent start!

ha..i didn't think of any of those flicks! i never saw maniac cop 3 or the surgeon... worth tracking?? and terror hospital IS the possession of nurse sherri.. ever see visiting hours? AND last slumber party kicks soo much a$$! AND AND AND theres awesome scene in 'dead and buried' where a 'dr block' clone (from terror planet) stabs someone in the eye with a needle! thats a brief hospital scene that is sweet..

Oh. I had wondered why I'd never heard of Terror Hospital before. I was going to be surprised that one slipped by me, but, apparently, it had not.

Oh yes, the Dead and Buried scene is pretty good. But, I never really considered that one to be a slasher film (though I have seen it lasted on a few slasher sites).

I love Visiting Hours!

I have never seen the Surgeon, which is why I just said I'd assume it's a hospital-themed slasher. Maniac Cop 3...well, if you like Maniac Cop 1 and 2, then three might be worth it. It's okay.

But I can't believe you actually like The Last Slumber Party. You must be joking!

reply

i'm totally NOT joking about my love for last slumber party!! its the best! i think i just really love how bad it is.. u have any bad movies (bad for us b-movie fans) that you just love?? incredible melting man is good in a bad way.. i just ordered 'deadline' from the early 80's.. heard thats pretty cool, ever seen that one?
oh yea, jsut watched 'sometimes aunt martha does dreadful things' and 'doctor gore' last week.. i try to watch a few horror flicks a week.. you know how it is...

VISITING HOURS (1982)
HALLOWEEN II (1981)
HOSPITAL MASSACRE (1982)

And they're all superior to the garbage known as HORROR HOSPITAL.

Exorcist III: Legion (1990, William Peter Blatty) plays for most of the running time in a hospital. Check the scenes with the big decapitation scissors.

A lot of The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue (aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie) is set in hospital. Being set in England in the 1970s it often has a similar vibe to Horror Hospital.

Reanimator is almost entirely based in a hospital.

Oh and let's not forget Garth Marenghi's Dark Place!

I seem to recall EXQUISITE TENDERNESS having large sequences within a hospital but am very foggy on the details.

COMA also has a lot of hospital tension and one of the best stalk/chases through a hospital you'll ever see. Though not a slasher - or even horror - the scene in question plays along much in the manner of a slasher and has more suspense in it's 5-10m than many slashers managed in their entire runtime.
