How about a DVD release?. It's a good movie.
It's right up there with "The French Connection".
I likewise agree that this film is long overdue for a DVD release. I would love to see this movie in its proper 2:35:1 widescreen ratio. Although a bit overlong and meandering at 134 minutes, this picture is still one hell of a solid, gripping and exciting revenge action thriller.

This is a very evocative crime drama with strong performances from a diverse cast. It's quite distinct from its "blaxploitation" brethren in that it has a European feel -- in fact, much of it was filmed in France, with the French actually speaking French instead English with "zose PHO-nee AX-cents" we're so used to. I expected to be entertained by this film, and I certainly was, but I had no idea how much I would be moved by it. It's very well directed also, with beautiful cinematography.
This film was clearly not made "on the cheap" and needs a quality release to rise it from the depths of obscurity.
Hey, my friend! I'm sure everyone knows by now, but Olive Films has released this forgotten classic on DVD in a widescreen transfer. Long overdue.
