This film has now been released on DVD in the UK (i.e. Region 2), released by Studio Canal in 2005. It's a great and extremely watchable film.

Thanks, hopefully that means they'll release it in the US sometime soon.

You can buy it with 49 other historical films for only $23 with $2 US Shipping at http://www.dvdmegapacks.com/movies.php?movie=33

I own 3 other MegaPacks and they are a great collection of older films.

Thanks a lot for the info, but do you know if these are Region 1 or 2 DVDs? I live in the US and I don't think its been released here yet, so if this happens to be Region 1 I'd be happy.

I found a copy of the MegaPack containing this movie today at BestBuy in Northlake, Illinois--not far from Chicago. They may offer it on their website. You could also try Overstock.com. It's really a great film.

Don't get this, Get: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066714/

Same king, different wives, more detail, extremely popular mini-series sort of redone with some cast changes as film.

That one was done first, by the BBC, to much acclaim - the movie version was like a condensed version of the series. Excellent though.

plenty of region two copies going on ebay of both Kieth Michell in the title role and Kieth Michell in the TV series. Both brilliant! I just bought the film version for about £3.00

This movie aired recently on WYIN Channel 56 (a Northwest Indiana PBS affilate) and I get the channel from my cable provider (I live in the Chicago area). I don't know if WYIN used the St. Clair set or another source. I recorded this on VHS.

It is shown on television often enough.
