I didn't get who this guy was and why Carol and Michael want to kill him. It's the scene where Carol opens her bra, shouts for Michael who theb brutally murders that guy.

He is killing him so they can rob him. That is their new racket: she is posing as a hooker so they can trap guys and rob them, then kill them to ensure there's no retaliation.

I agree that it seemed out of character for Michael to be coldly murdering someone for what was in their wallet. Maybe this was Bakshi's way of saying, "You thought you knew this person, but you were naive about what he could be capable of, given that he grew up in this urban environment full of ruthless, uncaring people."
