Very abrupt ending - spoiler

Jeez - i wanted to know what happened to casey and harry and then the movie ended!! Pretty good show except for that. Coburn is always great.

Casey probably spent the rest of his life in prison, due to being convicted on a fedreal charge for cocaine possesion. Harry was probably connected to all the robberies, that he and casey commited across the country. Ray and Sandy probably became the new Harry & Casey.

I was only a kid back in the 1970s, so I wasn't following the war on drugs. But I wonder whether the punishment for cocaine possession back in 1973 was as harsh as in, say, the 1980s or 1990s. E.g.,

So I think Casey might have gotten off rather lightly. Especially given his age, and if it was a first offense.

I don't see how they would connect Harry to other robberies, as he never held the pokes. It looked bad at the end of the movie, but he was probably set free fairly quickly.

As for Ray and Sandy ... I see them being scared straight. Though I'm not sure I see them lasting as a couple.

I like the ambiguity

So do I. The ending showed that anyone living a life of crime no matter how professional can have it all end at once.

Casey may have gotten off on the pickpocket charge since it couldn't be proven that he actually picked the guy's pocket. I imagine he could have just claimed that the real pickpocket dumped it into his own jacket pocket. But, the wallet still had the marks money in it so his defense would have been thin.

The coke bust would be another thing I guess depending on the amount and if it was his first offense. It seemed he only carried around a small amount for personal use, but he was carrying.

Since Harry was never busted before and it was his first offense I imagine he may have gotten off with only a couple of years or maybe just probation.

FYI, I'm not an attorney but I would be interested how one would look at these two guys and their legal troubles.

Harry saved Ray, by not handing him the wallet. That's a good place to end the story.

But why did he do that?
