R-rated 'Love American Style'

First saw this a few years ago, came with a bunch of other movies in a cheap pack. Was definitely not censored. Everyone else has said all there is to say (except...is seeing Bruno Kirby naked really THAT big a deal? He's just a guy, jeez, what is this the middle ages?) but one thing that struck me was that hard-to-define "feel good" atmosphere the movie had. It started me thinking of all the other movies and shows I know of that have that vibe.

I wasn't surprised at all to find that Charles Fox did the soundtrack, as he did "Love American Style." You remember him--he did Love Boat, Laverne And Shirley, Happy Days and...Barbarella and Pufnstuf, two films I've always maintained are a lot more similar than people credit!

Anyway, I just find connections like that amusing (C.F. also did "Foul Play" and "9 to 5" which have a similar tone to each other too, I think).

Also, at first I figured he must have just lent some cues to the project from his files, but a second look makes it appear he must have actually SCORED this thing (like when the big guy is walking down the steps with tympani pounds). I actually like CF's scores (he also did the "Girl" song by Davey Jones!) but you definitely have to be in a hippie-dippie 70's mood to be able to endure it.

Nilbog! It's goblin spelled backwards! This is their kingdom!
