Anyone know where I can obtain a dvd?

I love this film and haven't seen it in many years. I am a big Delon and Simone Signoret fan but I only have certain films of theirs' on vhs tapes.
I'd love to know where I can see this or buy it.
Thanks.

Hi there

A late response but I hope a good one. This film has proved very frustrating to find on DVD with the French DVD only including French audio with no English subtitles. The first time I saw this was on British television back in the 80s when ITV had a 'Continental Movie' series which screened movies like this late at night (Friday nights if I'm not mistaken). Two other great movies they showed were L'Aggression and The Secret, both with Jean Louis Trintignant. The films were always dubbed and so that's how I first experienced Les Granges Brulees, or as ITV called it - Burnt Barns.

Anyhow, the good news is that Madman Entertainment in Australia have released the film in an Alain Delon boxset and it is the dubbed version but I'm happy with that. It is anamorphic widescreen and is from a print from Studio Canal who own the movie rights so it's a fantastic print. I never thought this would get such a good treatment - it's really as good as it will ever get. Even better - the boxset also includes La Veuve Couderc (The Widow Couderc) which is the other film in which Alain Delon and Simone Signoret starred together. Not to mention Shock Treatment (in French with English subtitles) and Diabolically Yours. All Studio Canal prints and anamorphic widescreen.

The news gets even better - there is a volume 2 boxset with four other movies. These are the best Alain Delon boxsets out there IMHO.

Note that they are region 4 but will work on multi-region players - some Australian DVDs which say Region 4 actually play on non-region free players.

Here's the link to the entry for the Vol 1 and Vol 2 boxsets on Madman's site:

Try to contact Mr. Jaime Palhinha. He has a site where we can buy DVDs. I've just received my copy of Les Granges Brûlées (Region Free, French Audio, Brazilian Portuguese Subtitles).
He can be contacted by [email protected] and his site is www.devoltaaopassado.com.br
