the girl most likely to

Have been searching forever for a copy of that movie. Haven't seen it in years - would like to own a decent copy of the video. Also haven't seen it on TV in a long time. Anybody know where to purchase it and is it coming to TV any time soon? Dee

I WAS SO THRILLED TO SEE THAT SOMEONE ACTUALLY REMEMBERED THIS MOVIE, AND THEN DOUBLY THRILLED WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT SOMEONE ACUTALLY HAD A COPY. MY MOTHER AND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS MOVIE EVER SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL AND WE FIRST WATCHED IT TOGTHER ON TV. I WOULD LOVE TO GET THIS FOR HER AS A GIFT AT CHRISTMAS, CAN YOU HELP ME? PLEASE CONTACT ME AT [email protected] THANKS..

reply

Do you have a copy of " The girl most likely to". I only ever saw it once on TV back in the 70s but I do remember it was hilarious. Any ideas how I can get a good quality VHS or DVD for use in the UK. Thanks.

You know. I did a little research some time ago. I belive this was a 20th Century Fox relaese (please someone correct me if I am wrong). I was very young when I saw this movie, but I have never forgotten it. You see I considered myself an ugly duckling too and I could really relate to her pain, anger, and revenge. Anyway, I sent an e-mail to 20th Century Fox requesting a release of this timeless classic. So far I haven't received a response. I believe I sent the e-mail about 6 months ago.

I cannot believe that there are so many other people interested in this movie. Who knows maybe our comments will be read by some big shot person and he/she will answer our prayers. Keep your fingers crossed.

I support you 100%. I have been looking for this movie in Video form for over 30 years!

Kick myself, often, for not having recorded it when it was on TV but was sure that it would be "on again" in repeat, but it just faded away, never to return as a rerun.

This is an all time BEST MOVIE, that both teaches and touches all hearts, those who were less than kind and we who were the recipient of their deeds.

After watching this movie, you can't help but reevaluate your life. It should be "required watching" for all young teens.

So "YES" studio, PLEASE release this movie again, on Video for me and DVD for those who choose that format. I promise you, you will not be sorry or lack for sales.

Thanks.

Thank you excellenttiming.

Did you get just this movie, or was it sandwiched with 2 other short films? When I saw it in 1973, one of the other films was about this woman who was given a 5" tall African doll that would come to life if the gold chain around its waist ever fell off. It does, and this doll starts weilding a "real" knife and chasing the woman around her apartment...

Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers this bizarre movie!

Yes! Yes! That's it! I am grateful that you knew that. I watched the trailer and had a good laugh.

Somehow I remembered it as being sandwiched in between "The Girl Most Likely To..." and something else. I know I've seen it twice on ABC, both times in the 70's. But how funny it was watching it the first time when I was only 9 years old. Had I seen it alone, I'm not sure of what my reaction would have been.

I took a shot not long ago to find a comedy I remembered from the 70's. I had no idea what year it was or the title, or even who was in it. I just remember the catch phrase, "DeBonko Squad". I went through every title listed A-Z starting from 1970 until I found, in 1976, the title "Holmes & Yo-Yo". I lucked out, that was it. I did not have the mental fortatude to do that again with "Trilogy of Terror". I am very grateful to you!

Wow, I have never heard of the ...5" tall African Doll..., movie. I was about 10 years old when I seen The Girl Most likely to..., but to answer your question it was a VHS cassette I purchased. It was a home made copy.

reply

To MARKALLEN The movie you are referring to about the african doll and the the chain is called "Trilogy of Terror" starring Karen Black filmed in 1975...and that episode contained three different stories. It does not include Stockard Channing's "The girl most likely to"

reply

You are thinking of Trilogy of Terror starring Karen Black. Creepy movie. It was not "sandwiched" with The girl most likely to...

No, the TV movie you're thinking of was called "Trilogy Of Terror" and it starred Karen Black. It originally aired in 1973.

I was making a futile effort to find "The Girl Most Likely To..." on video for my mom a few winters ago. In my search on Stockard Channing and Ed Asner, I found a link to a theatrical Australian movie release called "Sweet Revenge." I'm wondering if they took the TV movie in the US and made it a theater movie in Australia.

Has anyone heard of this "other" movie? I'm not sure if it's the same, but it has SC and EA in it, and it's apparently about revenge.

reply

They're different movies.. both are pretty rare on dvd/vhs..
Sweet Revenge, Stockard plays a car thief..

reply

It's on DVD now. You can rent it from Netflix.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

Years late to this party, but yeah, I just put it on my netflix que. I never forgot this movie. I can't believe how long it's been and how young I was when it came out. I was practically brand new, but remember watching it alone. I never forgot it. Luckily I remembered SC in it. Couldn't remember the title. They are making a revenge reality show and it made me think of this. I had forgotten she was considered ugly. I thought she was just over weight and plain. Remember the exercise on that crazy ecliptal bikey thing.. SC was Tony the Tiger great~

reply

I remember it! Will be looking for it, thanks.
