When the movie started and the name "Christina Lindberg" rolled by in the opening cast list I thought: "Hmm, that sounds swedish. Weird for a 70's japansese flick." Then when the character (with the same name) got introduced as a brittish agent I thought that she is most likely a brittish actor with a very swedish name. But when she opened her mouth I couldn't stop laughing. That was one of the most hilarious swedish accents I've ever heard, period. I really wonder why the hell they did cast a swede with a horrible accent to play a brittish spy. And the scene where Shunosuke and Christina were speaking english to each other cracked me up like nothing I've ever seen before.

I usually don't mind stuff like this, but this was over the top silly. The movie was still pretty good though. But I like Female Yakuza better.

Most likely Christina Lindberg was cast because of her appearance. I love her 'eye-action' in the card scene (beautiful cinematography as well here). Also you can't resist but think that she's incredibly sexy in that lesbo sex scene.

That is the same exact reason why big Hollywood productions may have Chinese actors playing Japanese characters, or vice-versa, though their culture and language have very little in common and any native will spot the difference as soon as they open their mouths:
if a "local" audience can't spot the difference, why bother with the details?

Same goes for Spanish playing Mexicans, French playing Italians and the list goes on and on..

Like I said, I usually don't mind stuff like this. I guess it's because I'm swedish myself that I found it funny.

You seem angry jimb14red. There's no need to be. I actually liked the movie and Christinas performance was good. Still, a bit silly. I've also come to understand who Christina Lindberg is and now I can see why she was casted.

Female Yakuza still blows Sex and Fury though. cheers
