what makes robert mitchum a great actor .i just recently heard about him being mentioned with the greats .was just curious about what it was that made him great.?

He was a great looking guy with a great deep voice and he could deliver his role. I don't know how serious he was about being an actor, but he had great screen presence. A real star.

Mitchum did a made for TV movie called about three brothers and their father on the run from the police. He was so great. "A Killer in the Family" True story.
