which is better?

The Exorcist.

Both are good though, but I would give TE an 8.5 out of 10 and RB a 7 out of 10.

Rosemary’s Baby.. it made you think more.

I preferred Rosemary's Baby. It creeped me out more, though both movies are excellent.

The Exorcist is better. I never used to find Rosemary's Baby scary, it feels very tame and lighthearted compared to The Exorcist. Very of its age in the late 60's but still a good watch. The Exorcist is much deeper and darker, there's more to pick out from it in terms of story, backstory, characters, themes. The whole idea of a demon inhabiting a young girl's body and doing what he does with it is a lot more chilling and disturbing than elderly, nudist Satan worshippers.

Rosemary's Baby is a fantastic film but The Exorcist is better.

I think Rosemary’s Baby is better, both because of the way it was made and because I find the story more interesting. The only thing that bothers me about this movie is the ending, because I find the explanation “It could all be imagination” kind of cheap. I’d rather see characters react to real things than have to constantly think about whether what the character is experiencing is real.
