I really enjoy reading your insights into this wonderful film and book. Are you moving anywhere in particular to keep discussing?

Thanks for your very kind words, sunny. I really don't have any firm intentions of posting anywhere else at this point. I may be poking around at captainhowdy.com and the alternative imdb site to see what happens over there.

I feel like this Exorcist board has some of the more civilized members on IMDb. I only came here occasionally, but I got the impression you guys behave more maturely than most IMDb posters.

So polite. Especially for an Internet forum.

It's a shame that friendly online communities are shut down because of trolling/immaturity. But God bless everyone who has good social skills in Cyberspace.

And to Bastasch, the world needs more Internet users like you to balance out the trolls/stupidity. Users like you raise the average I.Q. of the Internet. I hope you continue to post elsewhere on the Web.

Lion, I really appreciate your very kind words. I've learned a lot from discussions here. Sadly I've sometimes fallen to the lower levels in some of my debates, but I tried to keep it clean with all fair-minded, polite posters.

I agree that this board - and especially the Jaws board - usually attracted interested, courteous posters and fans. I will miss it greatly.

Right now it doesn't look like I'll be too active posting on the Web unless/until I find a new place. Don't know if you're aware of it, but I do have a little blog which I seldom update, but it does have some articles on The Exorcist and Exorcist III, at:

It's terribly unfortunate. I've learned so much about this and other films and shows from other viewers. I've loved chatting and the jokes and fun I've had with many posters.

In particular, you bastasch, and the ever lovely Miscella, ProfessorNebilim, Sfmzone, Kurt...and even dear old Romefan provided entertainment.

Ah well, nothing lasts forever...

Thanks much, Sugarminx. I too have learned a lot from so many posters who have brought unique ideas, information, and perspectives to this film, and even to the novel, including you, of course. I don't want it to end. Even certain boards that are not too active, or in which I'm not all that active, were just always there to dip into and check up on and ask questions. Now they won't be. Well...it looks like we have had the one and single Final Word from imdb, without any chance of them changing their minds, so it's a done deal. I'll miss you and many others. Here's to a pleasant on-and-offline life post-imdb message boards.
