Hugo's girlfriend Sylvia
Say what you will about HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB being bad, I thought it was a fricking scary movie when I saw it as a teen. It still succeeds in displaying that creepy, gothic, ancient European atmosphere to it.
Watch this movie, if for anything because Hugo's girlfriend, Sylvia (Betsabe Ruiz), is one HOT babe. She's a gorgeous long-haired brunette with brown eyes and an alabaster complexion. She likes to wear short, very short minidresses that don't allow her to bend over without showing her panties underneath her black pantyhose, but do allow us to appreciate her long, shapely legs. The favorite guilty scene is later in the movie when she's captured for a sacrifice and has her minidress cut off by a sickle.
Hugo (Paul Naschy) is my favorite Euro-horror hero. He's an average-looking Joe. He's not a tough street fighter. He has no special abilities other than his own convictions and personal courage. He reminds me of Kolchak: The Night Stalker (Darren McGavin). Despite being an average Joe with a six-pack stomach, I really identify with this guy. I only wish I had the same successes he seems to have in many of his Euro horror movies where he gets the beautiful damsel-in-distress.
By the way, supporting actress, blonde, blue-eyed Cristina Suriani (as Paula) gives us an eye treat wearing a white, ultra-minidress; white, calf-high boots and shapely legs under nylons. Too bad I need two hands to type this message, ha, ha, ha.
