Favourite character?

Roper. Charismatic, scoundrel not beyond redemption and pretty good in his fight scenes. Always liked John Saxon in whatever hes done.

reply

Ropers my favorite too, would have loved a sequel or spinoff about him.

reply

Roper for me as well.

Lee

Besides Lee, it's Williams. He just oozes coolness. Too bad Jim Kelly didn't do more, beyond a few smaller-budget quickies. He had so much charisma.

Williams would definitely be my second choice. He had the best lines in the movie.

+1 for Roper. I first saw this movie in the 1980s and John Saxon managed somehow not to look stupid in 1970s clothing.

...and that's no small feat! Also, Saxon has changed the least. I saw him in an interview on youtube a few years ago, and time had been pretty kind to him, seeing as how it's been what, 40 years since ETD? Sorry I don't have the link.

reply

Never been a lover of roper. Williams was just too cool for Skool. Great street black man attitude. Williams wasn't a snitch either didn't drop lee in the poo once in hand office...Had a feeling roper was all self!

also Williams was a much superior fighter compared to Roper...!

reply

Yeah, Roper.

I liked that he remained good to the end too. I thought Han might turn him bad, but he came out swinging and kicking ass.

reply

John Saxon can rarely be topped.
