Question about the DVD (DVD-R)

It appears like this movie is only available as a DVD-R which originates directly from Warner Brothers themselves - from their Archive Collection. Is that in fact the case?

And for those of you have it (or have others like it) does it look and play just like a normal DVD? Is it in fact a DVD? Or is it in fact a DVD-R, which some DVD players have troubles playing?

I was about to buy it on Amazon when I noticed the DVD-R label. So I pulled the plug and bought something else instead. But I'll buy it with my next batch if in fact I'm confident about it.

Can anyone shed a little light on this for me?

Thanks!

It is definitely a DVD-R. When someone orders it, Warner Bros essentially burn it to a disc. Made to order. There are no fancy menus or anything. The picture quality is average. While it may not play on certain DVD players, it will definitely play on anybody's laptop or computer workstation. Hope that helps.
