IMHO, "A Cold Night's Death"(1973) is the best, but DRO is a very close second.
Rarely attracted to blondes, but Cloris Leachman is exceptional!
"A Cold Nights Death" is excellent, no doubt. This one gets the slight edge for me if only because of Cloris Leachman's strong portrayal. She is extremely convincing.
shareDUEL is better. NIGHT STALKER is better. VANISHING ACT (from the late 80s) is better. Many TVMs are better.
This movie has a wonderfully creepy first 20 minutes (the credit sequence, in particular, works great).
But it goes downhill in a hurry.
Love Richard Matheson but this film really disappointed me.
I admit I'm not that well versed in made-for-TV horror thrillers, but Dying Room Only is definitely among the best, it's a very taut and suspenseful thriller. It's still not as good as Duel, which is clearly the best.
